Caroline Wozniacki vs Venus Williams

Prediction: Venus Williams to win !

Wozniacki has won 26 titles in her career (at least 10 more than any of three World #1’s this year) and finished as the year-end #1 for consecutive seasons. There were still a lot questions surrounding her credibility as the World #1 because of her lack of big titles. She never won a Grand Slam or World Tour Finals even when she was consistently producing results at the top level (2009-2011). Looking at the conditions in Singapore and her current form, this will be the Dane's best chance of winning a big one.
Just like Wozniacki in her career, Venus Williams has come up short in the Finals of big tournaments in 2017. Previously she reached the finals at Australian Open 2017 and Wimbledon 2017 where she was beaten by Serena Williams and Muguruza in straight-sets.
This will be Wozniacki's seventh finals appearance of the season. She won her recent finals in Tokyo against Pavlyuchenkova before losing the previous six finals in Toronto, Bastad, Eastbourne, Miami, Dubai and Doha.
Venus Williams has an unassailable 7-0 lead against Wozniacki. The Dane has just managed to take one-set in those seven meetings. Their most recent meeting came in 2015 at WTA Miami. Wozniacki looks to be producing the kind of form that propelled her to #1 and with the slower surface in Singapore seemingly suit Wozniacki, this might be her best chance to break the duck against Venus Williams and also to lift the biggest title of her career.
Wozniacki is easily the best player so far this week, she has bageled three players including Svitolina, Halep and Garcia. She was even impressive in her SFs against Pliskova where she was flawless during the second-set. Venus Williams exhibited her fighting ability in the three-sets win over Garcia in her SFs clash, though the Frenchwoman has played too many matches in the past three weeks including two long three-set matches in Singapore, it was still a good fighting effort from Venus.
Venus Williams speaking to the press ahead of the Finals, "I’m going to be playing against one of the best players in the tournament, and another Caroline! It’s going to be like deja vu But I’m really happy, she’s a great friend and I’m really happy that one of us will win tomorrow.”
